A foundation
that expands boundaries

DRAMAN Foundation is an officially registered nonprofit organisation based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The Foundation grew from the DRAMAN ecosystem, which began its work in April 2022. A group of Ukrainian theatre practitioners recognised an urgent need for independent support of new cultural projects and creative individuals — and for enriching the cultural space with national content.

Since 2023, we have been implementing programmes of psychosocial rehabilitation and integration for vulnerable populations: IDPs, families of combat veterans, older adults, volunteers, military doctors, and youth.

DRAMAN believes that theatre is not merely entertainment — it is a traditional technology of recovery and social integration, with thousands of years of proven application even in the most challenging circumstances.

Registered as a legal entity in 2025. DRAMAN® is an officially registered trademark.

Mission

Why we exist

We expand boundaries — so that culture and creativity become accessible to everyone who needs them.
01
Equal Access to Culture
We remove financial, social and physical barriers between people and the arts. Theatre is not a privilege — it is a right.
02
Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Art as a therapeutic space. We help people recover through creativity — especially those affected by the consequences of war.
03
Community Integration
Theatre unites people of different backgrounds. Shared creativity builds trust and restores social bonds.
04
Creative Realisation
We create spaces where self-expression becomes possible — regardless of status, means or circumstance.
05
Skills for the Future
Creative participation develops the human qualities that no technology can replace — the foundation for life in a changing world.
Directions

What we do

01
Equal Access to Culture and Theatre
In 2023, the "Right to Dream" project was launched, providing over 2,000 free tickets to vulnerable populations. In 2025, it was institutionalised as DRAMAN Art Club — an online community using digital technologies to expand reach and engage audiences efficiently.
02
Supporting Theatres in Building New Audiences
Ukrainian theatres lost significant audiences due to emigration caused by the war. DRAMAN helps partner theatres attract new audiences — including IDPs and groups previously outside the theatre-going community.
03
Theatre-Based Training Programmes
Short-term programmes for rapid stress relief, and long-term systemic programmes for recovery, ongoing support, and inclusion in a community of like-minded people.
Metamorphoses training Metamorphoses training
04
Corporate Programmes for Human Capital
Theatre as a wellbeing tool: addressing burnout and stress, building corporate culture, and developing soft skills — within the framework of CSR and social initiatives.
05
Inclusive Theatre Studio
For those who wish to develop further as performers. Productions are staged, improvisation formats practised, and a circle of community formed.
06
Workshops and Festivals
Exchange of experience and dissemination of knowledge about theatrical technologies in commercial organisations, government institutions and NGOs.

Philosophy

What we believe

DRAMAN — A Person of Creativity
DRAMAN is a combination of two words: drama — creative action, and man — a person. DRAMAN is a person for whom creativity is one of the fundamental meanings of existence — a motivation for active action and changing the world. Not as a privilege. As a natural need of every human being.
Creativity Is Born Between People
Creativity is not the talent of a chosen few, nor an individual skill. It is a systemic phenomenon that arises in the space of collective interaction. It is born between people — and transforms everyone who takes part. We regard it as one of the fundamental meanings of human existence as a whole.
Theatre — The Clearest Expression
Of all forms of collective creativity, theatre is the most complete and the most ancient. It offers the unique opportunity to explore oneself, discover one's purpose — and realise it first in the safe space of the stage, then carry that experience into real life. That is why theatre is our primary instrument.
"We believe: every person is capable of creating.
And of changing the world."
